Modem CDMA dengan Module Q2438F ini memiliki keunggulan ketimbang pendahulunya (Q2358C) adalah frekuensi 800/1900 Mhz yang mampu menjalankan hampir seluruh kartu simcard CDMA dari Operator CDMA yang ada di Indonesia (kecuali Ceria-Sampoerna Telekom – Freq.CDMA 450+Mhz).

Kemudian kemampuan TCPIP stack yang sudah dimiliki oleh module dari modem ini memberikan kemampuan lebih luas lagi pada Wavecom M1206B (Q2438F CDMA 2000 1x).

Jadi bagi para pengembang aplikasi berbasis AT command dan jaringan wireless CDMA, sudah bisa mengoptimalkan fungsi daripada modem ini (data AT command bisa di download di sini).

Dirancang untuk kecepatan dan integrasi yang jauh lebih mudah, Q2438F adalah produk Dual Band (800/1900 MHz). Modul menyediakan perangkat aplikasi diakhiri dengan konektivitas nirkabel, kecepatan transfer data tinggi , dan fitur lanjutan seperti gpsOne, TCPIP, Multiplexing suara dan data. Keluarga Q24×8 dirancang untuk menargetkan ruang aplikasi pasar vertikal seperti aplikasi otomotif, Telematika, Mesin-to-Machine Interfaces dan Profesional Mobile Aplikasi. Modul ini juga dirancang untuk integrasi dalam aplikasi Dual Processor.

The radio design is based on the Qualcomm RadioOne direct conversion chipset. It supports the following four frequency bands and four operation modes.
